The Mermaid

Another chalk sculpture.A mermaid. It took me ages to carve the scales on her as the whole thing is made out of a single piece of chalk so the scales are really tiny. As always thanks to my chalk guru who introduced me to this wonderful world of mini sculptures.

Im still new at this so the piece broke in two while I was still working on it.Stuck it together this time....but im hoping to practice more so that the next one remains undamaged.
Thanks Vinny! Guruji ki jai ho!

Just finishing up on the last assignment for the cgtalk workshop.Matte Painting.Used a 3d render out of maya with a few lights as a base.Had done projections of textures on the geometry to have a starting point.Painted on top to get variations and worn out old feel.

Ive lately become fascinated by the art of touchup on photos. The fine balance between the desirable and undesirable textures on skin.... and how its all done.
